For this week’s Tuesday quote I have chosen an inspirational quote from Walt Disney. Born  Walter  Elias ‘Walt’ Disney in Chicago Illinois in the turn of the last century (1901-1966), he changed the way in which we laugh, cry and entertain ourselves. He was an American entrepreneur, animator and film producer.

Did you know?

  • his first animation studio was called Laugh-O-Gram
  • the Disneyland Park, the first theme park opened in Anaheim, Californis in 1955
  • his most iconic character, Mickey Mouse, was introduced in the short animated feature Steamboat Willie in 1928, and was originally to be called Mortimer Mouse
  • he holds the record for the most Academy Awards: 22 Oscars, from 59 nominations
  • he co founded the Walt Disney Company with his brother Roy. The company  is still one of the world’s largest and best known entertainment companies
  • he was involved in planning the 1960 Winter Olympics in California, and the 1964 New York  World Fair
